Correspondance de l'artiste

During the holiday period, Madé, his friends and I went to visit the Arma Museum. A huge building with a themed exhibition. It was really surprising—so many large paintings on the walls with bright, bold colours; it reflects the lush environment of Indonesia.

The owner of the museum is a well-known collector here. His name is Agung Rai and he has works from all over the world. I absolutely had to meet him. So one week before my departure for Bangkok, I decide to go and show him my paintings. I arrive by motorbike and ask to see Mr. Agung Rai. I am told he is not available. I insist. They seat me at a table in the restaurant when I notice a well-dressed man. He comes to see me, introduces himself and asks me questions. I tell him I am a painter and I show him some photos of my work. He likes it very much; he is very warm. He would like to come and see them at my studio.

He comes to visit a few days later; he loves it. He would like to buy several of them and offers to find me a studio next year, near the museum. What luck!
