Symposium Mer Océane - the documentary | 2023 | Îles-de-la-Madeleine

Réalisé par Richard Lavoie

It was with great surprise that in 2023 the documentary Mer Océane was released, 25 years after the events.

In this 30-minute film, presented at the Site de la Côte in 2023, filmmaker Richard Lavoie follows the artists of the Mer Océane symposium, which took place on La Grave in 1998. Under the presidency of sculptor Charles Daudelin, we discover many artists from the Îles and elsewhere at work, including the painter René Lemay. Come and immerse yourself in the camaraderie that existed among the artists of the time, a period of intense creative activity in the visual arts in the Îles.

Under the presidency of Charles Daudelin:
Réal Arsenault, Jacques de Blois, Suzanne Blouin, Nathalie Bujold, Jocelyne Coderre, Micheline Couture, Martine Cyr, Marlène Devost, Francine Dion, Serge Dupreuil, Jean Garneau, Daniel Gautier, Donald Leblanc, René Lemay, David Lonergan, Carole Piédalue, Lucien Turbide, and Jean-Yves Vigneau.
